Refurbishing: To get an idea.of what to expect when refurbishing a yacht this panorama may help. After a few months this is what the interior looked like. One of our work friends said "you've gutted a perfectly good boat". She may have been right!

Our Plan

We had planned to retire in 7 years. We expected the refurbishing to require between 3 and 5 years to complete. We spent 6 years on the hard and another year of shakedowns . After 7 years we headed off into the Sunset. NOT. Instead we retired, and headed out to the nearest anchorage on a brisk, cold, drizzly day. Sunsets would be later.
