Cruisers are a different breed of consumers. We can't easily go to a store and purchase something new if an item fails. Often there isn't a store around and if there is it may not have a replacement. In the Cook Islands the store consisted of a few old shipping containers. Anything boat related was over a 1,000 nm away. We look for items of quality, longevity, have good company support, and sometimes be personally repairable.
