Grade A: Companies that produce products earning this grade meet the rigorous demands of cruising as well as providing a level of service that understands use in a marine enviornment. For instance, companies that respond to emails within 24 hours and politely and knowingly handle phone calls during normal business hours are considered Grade A.
Grade B: Companies that offer exceptional products but fall short in terms of service are Grade B. Examples include email contacts that don’t respond or phone calls that result in extended hold times. When you speak to someone, they may not be knowledgeable about yachting or just plain friendly. These companies have a good product, but something is amiss.
Grade C: Items in this category have both positive and negative aspects. With the right management or solid R&D, these products could be significantly improved. I would purchase them if there’s no better quality product available or if I’m only looking for a single-use item that I can soon discard. There are both good and bad products in this category.
Grade D: I wouldn’t buy this product again. I was not satisfied with my purchase, and the product’s life expectancy was far from what was advertised. It felt like I was being conned or pressured into buying it. This is a one-time purchase, and I’m not wasting any more time or money on it.
Grade F: Buy this and use at your own peril. Fortunately some of these items are no longer on the market but one might find them in used yacht shops or on ebay. Consider yourself lucky to sucessfully use this product. If any of these company logos products in this list; I run away. No more; not wasting my time or hard earned money.
