Cruising the Eastern US Seaboard
We embarked on a journey down the West coast of Florida , preparing to cross the Atlantic Gulf Stream from the Florida Keys to the Bahamas. During our stay in Marathon, Florida, we noticed significant changes over the years we’ve cruised here. Anchoring has become near impossible , and a marina area with a substantial mooring field has emerged.
Afterward, we ventured offshore to attend a Westsail Rendezvous in the Chesapeake Bay. During our time there, we also installed a Wave Stopper hard dodger from Canvas Creations. Regrettably, I believe the owner has since retired.
We met several new Westsail owners and made more cruiser friends during our stay in the Chesapeake. Additionally we explored some of the area’s attractions before departing for the Virgin Islands the following fall.
