Singapore - A First World Country

Before you plan on heading to Singapore, fill out the arrival card. It is free and makes your life much easier.

We have been to Singapore on three different occasions now. The first time we crossed over at Johor. Johor is considered one of the busiest crossing points between Singapore and Malaysia. I have no doubts about it. One mistake we made was not getting Singapore dollars before we crossed. At the crossing point we never found an ATM. We needed Singapore Dollars; SGD to take the bus or for cab - taxi ride. The MRT connection we never found. At the MRT we could use our phone for access. So we needed cash and vehicle transport was getting difficult to find. Luckily one taxi was empty and W/ flagged it down. They took credit cards. Whew.

The second time we visited Singapore we took a bus from Pinetree Marina. This was sweet. No GRAB needed to the Johor Crossing. We crossed on the bus, walked through Immigration and Customs, took another bus to the MRT. We had a nice ride through the city exited with a 5 minute walk to the hotel. Returning we reversed the process exited in front of our marina. Sweet.

The third time we flew from Kuala Lumpur to Changi Airport. With the electronic visa clearing Immigration was a snap. With only carry ons customs looked us over and waved us through. As some of the photos show, the Airport was setting the standard for any airport in the world. One of all our drivers said in Singapore all you need to do is visit Changi. He was pretty much on the money. I've heard of people only seeing and staying at the Airport to visit Singapore. Sadly, there is much to miss then. Yet, the Changi Airport is a definite must stop in Singapore. We flew out of the Airport and again there were no speed bumps. And if you fly into Malaysia make sure you get the electronic Malaysian visa, MDAC.
