We purchased a TV in Australia. We were there long enough to we felt it would make life during Covid easier. The problem was; were were a 120 v boat. All the commercial products in Australia, 240 volt. We bought it anyway. And as luck would have it; at a travel trailer shop we found a 12 to 240 volt small inverter. This could be a temporary answer. And it worked well for 2 years.
Then we started to have some weird electrical issues. Some initially I couldn't figure out. The blade fuse holder would get quite warm. I replace the fuse. Mostly the same. The inverter would shut down unexpectedly restarting the TV. I played with the plug thinking the cigarette plug was showing signs of wear.
Then one day I plugged it in. Nothing, nada, zip. I grab the VOM meter and check Fuse is good but the 12 volt plug is bad. I open it up and find that it is soldered. and the wire broke off. Boats and soldered wiring is not the best. As I dug out another 12 v blug and began to replace it the wire in the blade fuse holder just fell out. Ok, replace both. I did and again it worked great.
For me... the Dometic earns C. The unit is excellent and would get an A, however the connections are really sub par and on a piece of electronic equipment that would be an F. So I'll compromise.
